Shoemaking
Shoemaking became a natural extension of my interest in garment and textile design. After discovering the online program I Can Make Shoes, I enrolled in courses focused on pattern drafting, shoe construction, and working with leather and professional materials. The process opened an entirely new creative rabbit hole for me.
I love the challenge of pairing my own handwoven textiles with leather, hardware, and structured forms to create one-of-a-kind footwear. Shoemaking pushed me to think differently about durability, fit, balance, and how fabric behaves when wrapped around the movement and structure of the human body. Much like weaving, it blends artistry with engineering, and every project teaches me something new. What excites me most is the ability to create truly original pieces from the ground up... beginning with fiber and ending with a finished, wearable object that feels both functional and deeply personal.
