Garment Design

One of my favorite parts of the creative process is transforming my handwoven fabric into garments. Many weavers are understandably hesitant to cut into cloth they spent countless hours creating, but I genuinely love that stage! That is when the fabric fully comes to life for me. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of what handwoven textiles can do in fashion, experimenting with structure, movement, fit, and unexpected design elements that challenge the idea of what handwoven clothing “can” look like. I’m often asked what my favorite project has been, and my answer is almost always my current one because it means I’m exploring a new technique, solving a new problem, or chasing a creative idea I can’t stop thinking about. For me, every project is an opportunity to learn something new and see just how far I can push both my skills and my imagination.
